TEXAS TRAVELING
History – Imax theater (watch movie about The Alamo), then walk to the National Landmark and tour The Alamo; Mission tour- 3 other missions in San Antonio, and Texas Ranger Museum. Also possible visits to: Institute of Texas Cultures & Transportation Museum.
Culture: River walk and Boat Tour; Tower of Americas; Witte Museum (art of the area- Spanish and Early American)
Government: A ride north to the state capital in Austin, which is modeled after the nations capital in Washington D.C. - tour the building; Visit a senator’s office and courthouse; Presidential Library of Lyndon Banes Johnson; Police Sta. & Fire Station Tour; Public Post Office to mail a post card back home.
Education: Visits to several Universities- Univ. of TX San Antonio, Trinity College, Incarnate Word, and Northwest Vista College. Also, there is a possibly a visit to Community College and depending on the age of participants, a visit to local high school for comparison value.
Ecological: Natural Bridge Caverns (Texas largest underground adventure), Wildlife Ranch (a drive through African Safari), a state park either near San Antonio or Austin for a day of relaxation and picnic.
Other Activities: Shopping at Riverwalk Mall, outlet mall or a major mall in the city, Sea World (an all day water park), meals from other cultures at various restaurants, library visits, ice cream party, out door bar-b-ques and picnics, and swimming pools (at the hotels).
There may be some substitutions due to availability of dates with the corresponding agency; however, it will be within the same theme for that day.
